إذا ألقت العبودية عصاها في أمةٍ عَميت هذه الأمة عن خيرها » : دخل عليَّ صاحبي وأنا أقرأ وشرها، وسارت في حياتها كما تسير قطعان الضَّأْن، لا تسمع إلا رنين جرس الكبش الأول، عينها في الأرض وفمها في منابت صغار الحشائش، وعصا المستعبِد فوق كتفه يَهُشُّ بها«. عليها كلما رأى انحرافًا عن الخطة المرسومة لها في حدود رعيها .
