تقع جمهوريّة رواندا الصغيرة والفتيّة وسط أفريقيا، بين المحيط الهنديّ والمحيط الأطلسيّ، وتمتدّ على مساحة ٢٦٣٣٠ كيلومترًا مربّعًا. وقد وُصفَت بأنها «سويسرا أفريقيا»، بسبب جبالها المكسوّة بالغابات، والتي يبلغ ارتفاع بعضها ٤٥٠٠ متر، وبسبب نسيمها العليل، وأمطارها الوفيرة، وعذوبة مناخها.
