This is a book dedicated to underpinning ethics in cinema and society. It does this by articulating the fact that human choices as done by filmmakers and movie audiences constitute sites for deconstructing ethical issues in film matters. Alongside the actions of filmmakers and movie consumers are plotlines of narratives where the choices of characters are indices for navigating moral dilemmas too. The arguments for censorship in today’s digitally challenging world, where films are more than ever consumed via online platforms, is also explored. This book therefore fills a gap in underpinning ethical matters at different levels of film production and consumption practices, especially in examining African cinema, and Nollywood (Nigerian cinema) in particular.
