Ascending the Double Helix

Using the DNA meme as a way of reintroducing religious conversation into everyday life in an age of genetic science and religious eschatology, this book decodes the genome of the Hebrew Bible’s liberating God, follows the Christian phenotype in the New Testament going public in historic Christianity, and challenges uncomfortable modernists and too-comfortable Christians to consider God the ultimate wager in a present pointed nowhere. This would mean not missing out on the grand evolution of the universe. The drama begins when God is auditioned to become the director of a new play, and believers are surprised to discover God auditioning them for leading roles. In such an earthly theater, communal justice emerges together with an earth beloved as mother. A Logos Christology grounds the play, uniting the word spoken at creation with the Word-become-flesh in Jesus Christ, who sources all Being and Becoming. Readers will leave the theater having recovered their present lost course and pointed toward a collaborative eschatology.
